Awakened early this morning
to the flash of lightning and the peal of thunder - with rain showers
pouring down. Does not look like the weather will change much all day
- though the weather guessers are saying a back door cool front sliding
down the Appalachian Mountains will push all of this on out by late in
the day.....good day for an extra cup of coffee and getting some chores
around the inside of the house done.
I
have one spoiled little Kitty......Maxie has been inside for the last
week and a half due to recovering from surgery......she had the last of
her stitches out on Friday and we have kept her in this weekend due to
the wet weather and not wanting the incision area to get wet & dirty.........she
has a new weatherproof insulated and heated kitty house on its way and
is expected here by Tuesday......we will have to re-introduce her to being
outdoors gradually and I suspect she is not going to be happy about it.......Frodo
has become her constant wrestling combatant....she loves to hide, wiggle
her butt, bait him into coming into the room and then jump on his head
and dance on it........I know Frodo is going to miss her when she goes
back outside because Rosie doesn't tolerate him at all..........

Summer,
three years ago, Paul, Cora, Anita and I took a vacation trip to the area
of Crested Butte, Colorado. We picked the time to coincide with the Wildflower
Festival. Down at the bottom of this page is an embedded copy of a coffee
table photo book that we (mostly Paul) put together. Well this year we
(adding Ken and Mary Deshaies to the group) road tripped it over to Moab,
Utah and to the Canyonlands Park and the Arches Park. Paul has put the
finishing touches on this years book and sent it to the publisher yesterday
and if I do it right an embedded copy should show up just below this paragraph.
Thanks so much to Paul and Cora for their hard work on this project......Hope
you enjoy it as much as we did our trip together
This is the Fearsome Foursome on the "Summer
to Remember"
Vacation 2009. Left to Right: Paul Winters, Cora Winters, Anita,
and Me. We enjoyed a great trip together to Crested Butte. Just
below is the link to book that is a compilation of pictures we took
on that trip.
A great time of friends,
fun and vacation. Thanks to
Paul for doing the yeoman's load in laying out and
editing this book.
